				| Obituary:  | Luther F. Wood, Jr. (Chief Warrant Officer II, 
				Retired), Albany, GA, died Friday, July 11, 2008 at Palmyra 
				Medical Centers. His funeral service will be MONDAY 12:00 PM at 
				Andersonville National Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Donald M. Kea will 
				officiate. A native of Tallahassee, Fl, Mr. Wood had lived in 
				Albany since 1939. He was a graduate of Albany High School in 
				the Class of 1947. He was an eagle scout and was a founding 
				member of the Immokalee Lodge and served as its first chief. Mr. 
				Wood served with Headquarters Company, 2nd. Battalion, Fifth 
				Regimental Combat Team in Korea and Hawaii. He served with the 
				US Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Wood served with the US 
				Army in the 78th. Engineers Company during the Berlin Crisis. He 
				retired from the Army in 1970. Following his military 
				retirement, he worked in civil service at Turner Field, then the 
				US Naval Air Station, then finally at USMC Logistics Base 
				Albany, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the First United 
				Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Mr. 
				Wood was served as a captain in the Civil Air Patrol for 16 
				years as a communications officer and aerial observer. He was 
				preceded in death by his wife Dorothy S. Wood, a native of 
				Americus. Mr. Wood is survived by his sons: Alan Wood and his 
				wife Christy, Forsyth, GA, Mike Wood, Albany; 3 granddaughters.
