ALUMNI CARD BOX

From what appears to be approximately 1968 to approximately 1987, Immokalee Lodge kept the records of its members on the official cards issued by national for that purpose.  Someone built a very nice, elaborate box to hold the cards of the inactive members of the lodge.  The workmanship is masterful and includes cloth underneath each divider to assist in the removal of the cards.  The white top slides forward to reveal the cards and is held in place by two pins which insert at the front corners.  The box is in the possession on the lodge and was the partial basis of the Alumni list from 1968 to 1987 compiled in 2004.  The box is 16 inches long, by 12 inches wide, by 5 inches deep.  The box maker is unknown.  If you know the maker please email the webmaster.

If you wish to know if you have a card in the box go to the Alumni page and check the roster.  If your name has a card number then you have a numbered card (the card below is number 314).  If your name has the word 'Blank' by it you have a card but it is not numbered.  We do no know the reason some cards were not numbered and some were not.  See Alumni page.

It appears that the cards of the active members of the lodge were contained in a book designed to hold the cards when the use of the cards was discontinued.  The book was last seen at the council office in the early 1990s.  The book and the cards of the members who were active at the time the cards were discontinued (circa 1987) appear to have been be lost or destoryed as none of those members cards are in the box.

Below is a typical card  from the box. The cards recorded such things as date of ordeal, brother and vigil; conclaves attended; if you received you one-per-life neckerchief; and, if you received your two-per-year flaps.
